Description
Dennerle Lomariopsis lineata ‘süsswassertang’
At first glance, it is easy to confuse Lomariopsis with the moss Monosolenium tenerum. However, a simple distinguishing criterion is the distinct midrib in Monosolenium. Lomariopsis does not possess this. Freshwater kelp, as it is incorrectly called, is a peculiar fern species that grows only in the prothallium stage and can be used like a moss species in the aquarium. Prothallium is the name given to the pre-sprouting stage and simply in form as a small, flat thallus body.
Lomariopsis plant pads are easy to tie up or wedge between rocks and roots. The growth is very slow and therefore ideally suited for nano aquariums.
